Jonathan Toews carried the Chicago Blackhawks against the St. Louis Blues on Saturday night.

The Blackhawks captain scored the game-winning goal in overtime to complete a hat trick against the Blues in a 5-4 win at Enterprise Center. It’s his fifth career NHL hat trick.

After the Blues took a 2-0 lead in the first period, Toews scored his first goal of the night to cut the deficit in half heading into the first intermission. Toews found a rebound off the boards in front of the net and poked the puck into the net.

The 30-year-old Toews added his second tally in the third frame. He was in front of the net again and corralled a shot by rookie Henri Jokiharju and flipped it above Jake Allen to tie the game 4-4 and force overtime.

Toews’ overtime goal gives him four scores this season. He also scored Thursday in the Blackhawks’ season-opening victory against the Senators in Ottawa.
