NHL: Chicago Blackhawks at St. Louis Blues Jeff Curry-USA TODAY Sports

Jonathan Toews completed his fifth career NHL hat trick 2:20 into overtime to give the Blackhawks a 5-4 victory over the Blues on Saturday in St. Louis. Chicago hosts the Maple Leafs for its home opener Sunday.

Tyler Sikura and Lucas Carlsson scored for the Rockford IceHogs in a 5-2 loss to the Cleveland Monsters. Collin Delia made 26 saves.

Chicago prospect Liam Coughlin had two assists, one shot and was 9 for 19 on faceoffs in Vermont’s 5-2 upset win at No. 4 Michigan. Jake Massie also had an assist and one shot.

Alexis Gravel made 37 saves for Halifax in a 3-2 loss to Baie-Comeau in the QMJHL. Gravel is 4-2 with a .913 save percentage in six games this season.

Philipp Kurashev had a power play goal, an assist and was 6 of 19 on faceoffs for Quebec in a 6-4 loss to Rouyn-Noranda in the QMJHL.

Josiah Slavin had a goal and an assist for Lincoln in a 4-2 win over Des Moines in the USHL.
