The Blackhawks allowed four first-period goals in a 5-2 loss to the Predators on Saturday in Nashville. Chicago plays the second half of a back-to-back Sunday when they host the Flames at the United Center.

The IceHogs didn’t do any better against Nashville’s AHL club, with a 3-0 loss to the Admirals in Rockford. The IceHogs host the Rampage on Sunday afternoon.

Elsewhere in Chicago sports, Lauri Markkanen had 10 points and four rebounds in his season debut for the Bulls in a 121-105 loss to the Rockets in Houston. The USHL’s Steel hammered the Flying Aces 5-1 in Bloomington to increase their win streak to seven games.

The NFC North Division-leading Bears visit the Giants on Sunday.
