Blackhawks prospect Evan Barratt scored his first goal for the American men’s national junior team in his first game at the World Junior Championship on Friday.
Barratt’s goal gave the United States a 2-1 lead over Slovakia at 5:43 of the third period.
The Penn State sophomore took the puck from below the goal line then skated to the area between the faceoff circles before ripping a backhander into the net past goaltender Samuel Hlavaj.
