The Blackhawks will have a prospect play in each game during Day 3 of the World Junior Championship. Czech defenseman Jakub Galvas faces Russia in the first game, while American center Evan Barratt takes on Kazakhstan in the nightcap.
Galvas (2017 fifth-rounder) had a secondary assist and one shot on goal in a team-high 24:59 of ice time in the Czech Republic’s 2-1 overtime win over Switzerland on Wednesday. Russia shut out Denmark 4-0 in its tournament opener Thursday.
Barratt (2017 third-rounder) scored the game-winning goal at 5:42 of the third period to lift the United States to a 2-1 win over Slovakia. The Penn State sophomore was named the team’s player of the game and had a game-high seven shots on goal in 15:43. Kazakhstan was shut out by Finland 5-0 on Thursday in its tournament opener.
Games will air on NHL Network in the United States and TSN in Canada.
