Mike Craig, senior manager of facilities operations/hockey operations for the NHL, and his crew have yet again built an ice rink outdoors for the Winter Classic on Jan. 1.
That moment when hallowed football gridiron becomes hockey heaven.

The football field also has large logos for the NHL at the bottom of the rink and a logo for the Bruins and Blackhawks, from left to right, north of the rink.
The Blackhawks and Bruins are each scheduled to practice at the stadium on Dec. 31.
Chicago has yet to a Winter Classic in three tries, with losses in 2009 at Wrigley Field to Detroit, in 2015 at Nationals Park to Washington and in 2017 at Busch Stadium to St. Louis. It’ll be the first time the Bruins will be the road team in the Winter Classic. They’re 2-0 in the outdoor showcase, with wins over Philadelphia in 2010 at Fenway Park and Montreal in 2016 at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.
