Half of the each conference final can be decided Sunday with wins by the Tampa Bay Lightning and Vegas Golden Knights.
Tampa Bay holds a 3-1 series lead over Boston after a 4-3 overtime victory in Game 4. The Lightning have won three straight since losing the series opener and are one win shy of advancing to the Eastern Conference Final for the third time third time in the last four years and fourth time since 2011. The last time Tampa Bay advanced to the ECF in 2016 it won four straight after opening the opener to the New York Islanders.
Vegas will look to close out its series against the Sharks in Game 6 in San Jose. The Golden Knights are one win away from becoming the third NHL team to win two playoff series in an inaugural season. The Toronto Arenas in 1917-18 and the St. Louis Blues in 1967-68 also accomplished the same feat. If Vegas wins the series they’ll snap an eight-year streak of having at least one California team in the Western Conference Final.
