The Vegas Golden Knights will look to even the Stanley Cup Final at 2-2 when they visit the Washington Capitals for Game 4 on Monday at Capital One Arena.

The Capitals won 3-1 to take Game 3 and a 2-1 series lead. It’s the first time Vegas has lost consecutive games in the playoffs.

The Golden Knights had plenty of offense in Game 3 with 62 shots, but the Capitals blocked 26 of them and goaltender Braden Holtby stopped 21. Vegas has only scored three goals in its two losses in the series.

Evgeny Kuznetsov, who left Game 2 with an upper-body injury, did return for Game 3 and provided a goal and an assist to give him a playoff-leading 27 points (12 goals, 15 assists). Washington captain Alexander Ovechkin scored his 14th goal of the playoffs to tie John Druce’s franchise record. Ovechkin is tied with Winnipeg’s Mark Scheifele for the most goals scored in the postseason.

Former Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Michal Kempny blocked three shots and recorded three hits for the Capitals in Game 3. He also had one shot on goal in 17 minutes, 23 seconds of ice time.
