The Chicago Blackhawks sent first-round pick Nicolas Beaudin and forward MacKenzie Entwistle back to their junior teams Friday. Beaudin will report to the QMJHL’s Drummondville Voltigeurs, while Entwistle will join the reigning OHL champion Hamilton Bulldogs.

Beaudin, a left-handed defenseman, scored 12 goals with 57 assists with the Voltigeurs last season. Entwistle, who was acquired from Arizona during the summer in the Marian Hossa trade, tallied 38 points (13 goals, 25 assists) in 49 games. The Coyotes drafted Entwistle in the third round of the 2017 NHL draft with the No. 69 overall pick.

Chicago also assigned seven players to the Rockford IceHogs in the AHL. Defensemen Lucas Carlsson, Blake Hillman and Darren Raddysh; forwards Jacob Nilsson and Nathan Noel; and goaltender Kevin Lankinen will all report to Rockford. Forward Henrik Samuelsson was released from his professional tryout agreement and will also head to the IceHogs.

The Hawks’ training camp roster now stands at 44 with 24 forwards, 15 defensemen and five goaltenders.
