We’re almost there, folks.

On Thursday night, the Chicago Blackhawks will play their penultimate preseason game when they host the Ottawa Senators, the same team that Chicago opens the regular season against next week.

As indicated by the morning skate, it looks like plenty of the Blackhawks top names will be in the lineup, including a top line of Alex DeBrincat-Jonathan Toews-Dominic Kahun, which could be one of Chicago’s top forward lines in that season opener next week. A few of the noticeable names missing from the line combinations this morning included forwards Patrick Kane and David Kampf and defenseman Brandon Davidson, who just signed a one-year contract.

The line combinations should look something like this, according to Scott Powers of The Athletic:

The blue line pairings are also worth noting, as Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville told the media on Wednesday that he was going to experiment with breaking up the veteran combo of Duncan Keith and Brent Seabrook. How those D pairings look tonight could go a long way towards how they’ll look on the fourth night of October.

In net, Anton Forsberg gets the nod in net after Cam Ward’s disastrous outing in an 8-6 loss to the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday night.
