2019 Blackhawks training camp: Kris Versteeg, 3 others assigned to AHL
The two-time Stanley Cup champion is heading to Rockford.
The Blackhawks assigned forwards Kris Versteeg and Tyler Sikura and defensemen Chad Krys and Jack Ramsey to the Rockford IceHogs on Friday. Ramsey, Sikura and Versteeg are all on AHL contracts.
Chicago will continue to trim its training camp roster down this week. The Blackhawks now have 26 forwards 14 defensemen and five goaltenders in camp. Goaltender Matt Tomkins, who was the starter for the Indy Fuel in the ECHL last season, is the lone player on an AHL contract.
