Blackhawks’ Patrick Kane scores 4 points in 2019 NHL All-Star Game

Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane and the Central Division fell 10-5 to the Metropolitan Division in the 2019 NHL All-Star Game championship matchup in the 3-on-3 tournament Saturday at SAP Center in San Jose.

Kane was credited with a secondary assist on Blues forward Ryan O’Reilly’s goal in the loss.

Pittsburgh’s Sidney Crosby led the way with a five-point performance in the final, helping himself and his Metropolitan teammates win the $1 million prize. He had eight points during the tournament to earn MVP honors.

Kane recorded two goals and one assist in the Central’s 10-4 victory over the Pacific team in the opening game of the tournament. It was the first victory for the Central, who lost the previous three semifinal matchups to the Pacific.

Kane now has six goals and five assists in eight career all-star appearances.

Kane’s breakaway attempt about four minutes in was stopped by Pacific goaltender John Gibson.

But the Chicago star set up Predators defenseman Roman Josi for a goal off a rush to make it 3-1 for the Central at 5:08 of the first. Kane then followed it up with a goal of his own at 5:31.

Kane scored his second of the game at 8:11, finishing off a 2-on-1 rush with Jets forward Blake Wheeler at 8:11.

Pacific goalie Marc-Andre Fleury denied Kane on two separate breakaway attempts with two minutes remaining.
