The third day of the preliminary round at the World Championship will have nine Blackhawks players, including two prospects in action.
In Group A play, Alex DeBrincat and Patrick Kane (United States) start the day against France. The Chicago duo connected on a power play goal in a 4-1 loss to Slovakia in the U.S.’ opening game with DeBrincat scoring the goal. France is coming off a 4-3 loss to Denmark on Saturday.
The next game will have two Blackhawks going against each other with Dominik Kahun (Germany) and Mathias From (Denmark). The final Group A game will see Dylan Strome (Canada) face off against Great Britain.
In Group B play, Artem Anisimov (Russia) meets Austria before Erik Gustafsson and Marcus Kruger go against Italy. Anisimov scored a goal in Russia’s 5-2 win over Norway on Friday, while Gustafsson had a primary assist in Sweden’s 5-2 loss to the Czech Republic on Friday.
Blackhawks prospect Philipp Kurashev and Switzerland cap the day against Latvia. Kurashev had a secondary assist in the Swiss’ 9-0 win over Italy on Saturday.
