2019 World Championship: Recap, highlights on Blackhawks players, prospects from Day 2

Czech Republic 7, Norway 2 (Group B)
Czech winger Dominik Kubalik had a three-point game with a goal and two assists in 11:35 of total ice time. The Blackhawks prospect now has back-to-back multi-point games after recording a goal and an assist against Sweden on Friday.

Norwegian winger Andreas Martinsen dished out a primary assist to Tobias Lindstrom. Martinsen, who played for the Blackhawks and IceHogs this past season, has two assists in the tournament.

Former Blackhawk Michael Frolik (Flames) scored two goals and had a secondary assist on Filip Hronek’s first goal.

Another former Blackhawk in defenseman Jan Rutta (Lightning) had an assist.
Switzerland 9, Italy 0 (Group B)
Blackhawks prospect Philipp Kurashev had a secondary assist, two shots and a plus-2 rating in 13:47 of ice time. The 2018 fourth-rounder’s assist came on Gregory Hofmann’s goal at 7:24 of the first period to give the Swiss a 2-0 lead.

Finland 4, Slovakia 2 (Group A)
Blackhawks prospect and Rockford IceHogs goaltender Kevin Lankinen made 23 saves for Finland. Defenseman Henri Jokiharju did not record a shot in 10:08 of ice time.
Former Blackhawk Richard Panik (Coyotes) had the secondary assist on Erik Cernak’s (Lightning) opening goal for the Slovaks.
Finnish winger Kaapo Kakko, a projected top two overall pick in this year’s NHL draft, scored three goals, including an empty-netter, for a hat trick. He has scored five of Finland’s seven goals in the tournament.
Germany 3, Great Britain 1 (Group A)
German winger Dominik Kahun had two shots and was a plus-1 in 17:06 of ice time.
Denmark 5, France 4 in shootout (Group A)
Blackhawks prospect Mathias From did not play.
