The Blackhawks assigned left-handed defenseman Brandon Davidson to the Rockford IceHogs in the AHL on Sunday afternoon.

Davidson was recently activated from injured reserve Jan. 3, and played in three out of the last four games. He has played in 10 games this season with the Hawks and registered one assist, seven shots on goal, a minus-4 rating and a 48.8 Corsi-For percent.

The Hawks now have seven defensemen on their active roster, as well as Gustav Forsling, who was placed on IR on Jan. 9 with a nagging “upper-torso” injury.

Left-handed defenseman: Duncan Keith, Erik Gustafsson, Slater Koekkoek, Carl Dahlstrom and Forsling (IR).

Right-handed defenseman: Brent Seabrook, Henri Jokiharju and Connor Murphy

The Blackhawks face the Devils at 6 p.m. Central time Monday at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
