Watch: Blackhawks’ Kirby Dach scores first career NHL goal

It wasn’t pretty, but it’ll do.

Kirby Dach scored his first career NHL goal for the Blackhawks in only his second game Tuesday at the United Center.

Olli Maatta’s shot bounced off Dach’s glove and into the net past Marc-Andre Fleury to give Chicago a 1-0 lead over the Golden Knights at 16:15 of the first period.

Dach is the youngest Blackhawks player to score a goal since Steve McCarthy in 1999.

Dach’s path to his NHL debut took a different route when he suffered a concussion Sept. 10 during the NHL Prospect tournament in Traverse City, Michigan. He remained out of action until last week when he made his pro debut with the Blackhawks’ AHL affiliate, the Rockford IceHogs, on a conditioning stint.
