It’s the third time in his NHL career the three-time Stanley Cup champion will sit because of a coach’s decision, with the first time back on Jan. 9, 2018, against Ottawa.
I asked Seabrook if he was upset about 2nd consecutive scratch:— Ben Pope (@BenPopeCST) October 29, 2019
"What do you think? It's not fun, sitting out."
Said Colliton hasn't talked to him since telling him Sunday he was out of lineup vs. LA.
"There is no conversation. He just told me, that's it."
Chicago head coach Jeremy Colliton will have Dennis Gilbert remain in the lineup for Seabrook, who was on the ice for three of Carolina’s four goals in a 4-0 loss to the Hurricanes last Saturday. Seabrook has one goal and a career-low 17:39 of ice time, and has been on the ice for two goals for and six against at 5-on-5 in nine games this season.
Gilbert had a team-high eight hits, one giveaway and posted a 35.71 Corsi-For rating in 14:51 minutes in only his third NHL game Sunday. He skated with Erik Gustafsson on the third pairing and the duo will stay together Tuesday.
