Watch: Blackhawks prospect Evan Barratt scores highlight-reel goal for Penn State

New, comments

The 2017 third-rounder is at it again.

Evan Barratt, left, scores his goal against Michigan State with teammate Liam Folkes on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2019, at Pegula Ice Arena in University Park, Pa.

Blackhawks forward prospect Evan Barratt has developed a name for himself in his three seasons at Penn State for scoring highlight-reel goals.

The 2017 third-round pick had, at least, two last season as a sophomore with a lacrosse-style tally against Arizona State last November and added a shorthanded goal against Ohio State in January.

Barratt added another highlight-reel goal to his resume Saturday against Michigan State. He scooped up the puck below the goal line, tossed it into the air across Spartans goaltender John Lethemon’s face then hit the puck into the net on his backhand.

Barratt has two goals and seven points in nine games at Penn State (7-2, 3-1 Big 10). He’s expected to sign an entry-level contract with the Blackhawks in the spring.
