The Blackhawks dropped the first game of a home-and-home against the Avalanche, 5-2, on Friday at the United Center. Matt Tomkins made 31 saves for the Rockford IceHogs to win their fifth straight game this season against the Chicago Wolves.

Chicago will visit the Colorado on Saturday, while the IceHogs host the Grand Rapids Griffins.
