Finland 8, Slovakia 1
With Finland losing its No. 1 center Rasmus Kupari (Kings) due to injury, Saarela shifted up to the top center role and had two shots on goal and was 8-for-18 on faceoffs in 18:23. Saarela played on the top line with Lenni Killinen (Hurricanes) and Ilves teammate Matias Maccelli (Coyotes).
Germany 4, Czech Republic 3
Teply had four shots on goal and was on the ice for one goal against in 22:29 while playing on the top line.
Unlike Thursday, Teply did not factor into the goal against.

Two of Teply’s four shots came in the third period with the best one coming on a breakaway. He was active on setting up teammates on the Czech’s 10 power-play opportunities, but they often held on to the puck and did not shoot it.
What’s next
Saarela and Finland play Kazakhstan at 8 a.m. Sunday. The Czech Republic has Sunday off before playing the United States at noon Monday. Both games will be televised on NHL Network.
