2020 World Junior Championship: Dec. 31 schedule, TV, game thread

Blackhawks prospects Antti Saarela and Michal Teply will both play at noon New Year’s Eve at the 2020 World Junior Championship.

Teply, a top-line wing, has four assists (three primary) for the Czech Republic in three tournament games. The Czechs will play Canada in a game televised on NHL Network.

Saarela has no points, four shots on goal and is 55 percent on faceoffs while being Finland’s top-line center. Finland faces off against Switzerland.

Tuesday, Dec. 31

Sweden vs. Slovakia, 8 a.m. (NHLN)

Russia vs. Germany, 8 a.m.

Finland vs. Switzerland, noon

Canada vs. Czech Republic, noon (NHLN)
