Blackhawks defenseman Brent Seabrook will not play against the Red Wings on Wednesday night due to an abdominal strain, coach Jeremy Colliton said Tuesday. Seabrook will not travel with the team, either.

Colliton did not offer a timetable for Seabrook’s return.

It’s the second straight game Seabrook will miss after he did not play in the team’s 8-7 win over the Senators on Monday night at the United Center. Seabrook has five goals and 18 assists in 58 games this season.

Carl Dahlstrom slotted into the lineup in his absence Monday, and logged 15 minutes of ice time. Dahlstrom, who is still searching for his first NHL career goal, has six assists in 26 games this season since being called up from the AHL in December. The left-handed defenseman had three helpers in 11 NHL games last season.

The Blackhawks enter Wednesday’s game one point back of Minnesota for the second wild-card spot in the Western Conference.
