NHL: Chicago Blackhawks at San Jose Sharks Stan Szeto-USA TODAY Sports

Alex DeBrincat scored two goals to reach the 40-goal mark this season to lead the Blackhawks to a 5-4 win over the Sharks on Thursday at SAP Center in San Jose.

The IceHogs are off until Saturday when they host the Grand Rapids Griffins.

Elsewhere in Chicago sports, the Cubs opened their season with a 12-4 road win over the Rangers while the White Sox’s comeback fell short in a 5-3 loss in Kansas City.
