NHL: Washington Capitals at Carolina Hurricanes James Guillory-USA TODAY Sports

There are three games on the schedule for Thursday.

The Hurricanes look to build off their first playoff win in 10 years and even the series against the reigning Stanley Cup champion Capitals. Carolina, however, will be without rookie Andrei Svechnikov, who is in concussion protocol after being knocked down in a fight with Capitals captain Alexander Ovechkin in Game 3.

The Jets hope to land their third straight win in the series against the Blues and pull within a game of advancing to the next round. Winnipeg flew past St. Louis 6-3 in Game 3, but needed overtime in Game 4 to even the series with Kyle Connor’s goal.

The Golden Knights can advance to the second round with a win against the Sharks in San Jose. Vegas has won three straight since falling 5-2 in Game 1 at SAP Center. Even after giving up at least five goals in each loss, San Jose head coach Peter DeBoer is sticking with Martin Jones as his starting goaltender.
