The Blackhawks officially signed Dominik Kubalik to a one-year deal.

Elsewhere in Chicago sports, the Fire blew a 2-0 lead then Francisco Calvo scored two minutes into the second-half stoppage time to pull to a 3-3 road draw with D.C. United. Kyle Schwarber and Kris Bryant homered to power the Cubs past the Astros 3-2. Tim Anderson doubled in the go-ahead run in the eighth, lifting the White Sox to an 8-7 victory over the Royals.

On Thursday, the White Sox host Cleveland.
