The Sharks are 2-1 in the series at SAP Center, with their lone loss coming in Game 2. In addition to playing at home, the Sharks might get captain Joe Pavelski back.
Pavelski hasn’t played since suffering an undisclosed injury when his head hit the ice after being cross-checked in Game 7 against Vegas, but will be a game-time decision. He led the Sharks with 38 goals in the regular season and returned to practice Monday for the first time since the injury.
It’s the fourth Game 7 of this year’s playoffs and the second for the Sharks, who eliminated the Golden Knights with a 5-4 overtime win at home. Speaking of home ice, the home team is 2-1 in Game 7s this year. Blues beat the Stars 2-1 in overtime Tuesday night and the Hurricanes ousted the reigning Stanley Cup champion Capitals 4-3 in double overtime April 24 in the first round.
