Elsewhere in Chicago sports, Red Stars goalkeeper Alyssa Naeher made two saves and Julie Ertz also played in the United States’ 13-0 win over Thailand in Group F play in the World Cup in France. The Fire were upset 2-1 by USL side Saint Louis FC in the fourth round of the U.S. Open Cup.

The Sky held off the Mercury 82-75 to remain undefeated this season at Wintrust Arena. Katie Lou Samuelson, the fourth overall pick in this year’s WNBA draft by the Sky, will miss three weeks with a small fracture in her right wrist. Welington Castillo hit a grand slam in the White Sox’s 7-5 win over the Nationals. The Cubs got rocked 10-3 in Colorado.

On Wednesday, the Cubs wrap up their series against the Rockies.
