The Blackhawks won’t play an outdoor game next season, but they will wear their Winter Classic jersey from a season ago.
Chicago will wear the black-and-white jersey three times during the upcoming 2019-20 season, the team announced Thursday. In addition to wearing the jersey, the Blackhawks will have giveaways with the design for the first 10,000 fans each night.
Dec. 2 vs. Blues: Shirt
Jan. 21 vs. Panthers: Winter scarf
March 3 vs. Ducks: Knit hat
The first two games of the series mark games Blackhawks fans already had circled on their calendars. The first one is the start of the season series against the rival Blues, who captured the Stanley Cup for the first time in their 52-year existence last season. The second is the return of three-time Cup-winning coach Joel Quenneville to the United Center.
The Blackhawks lost the 2019 Winter Classic 4-2 to the Bruins at Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend, Indiana, but Chicago was 3-0 while wearing the jersey after the marquee outdoor showcase.
Should the Blackhawks wear black jerseys more?
