The Blackhawks will face the Wild in the seventh-place game at the NHL Prospect tournament at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Traverse City, Michigan.
Chicago held a 2-0 lead after the first period, but the Blues scored four unanswered goals — including an empty-netter — to pull away with a 4-2 win Monday. Rockford head coach Derek King had top prospects Adam Boqvist and Kirby Dach sit out against St. Louis for an extra day of rest and to give others some more ice time.
Boqvist and Dach will return to the lineup against the Wild, according to Blackhawks senior writer Chris Kuc. Defenseman Dennis Gilbert will not play as Cole Moberg will be paired with Boqvist on the top line. Nicolas Beaudin will skate with Jake Ryczek for the second pairing and Chad Krys with Jack Ramsey for the third.
Minnesota is 0-1-2 in their three tournament games. The Wild blew a 2-0 lead against the Rangers on Monday when New York scored two power-play goals with less than two minutes to play to force overtime. Kaapo Kakko then netted the game-winning goal to send Minnesota to the seventh-place game.
Alexis Gravel, who made 27 saves against Detroit in a 4-3 overtime win Friday, is expected to start in net for Chicago.
