Blackhawks place Carl Dahlstrom on waivers

The Blackhawks placed defenseman Carl Dahlstrom on waivers Monday in an attempt to assign him to the Rockford IceHogs in the AHL. If the 30 other NHL teams do not place a claim on him, Dahlstrom will be sent to Rockford.

Dahlstrom, 24, split last season between the AHL and NHL, recording eight points (one goal, seven assists) in 22 AHL games and six assists in 39 NHL outings.

Rockford also assigned goaltender Chase Marchand to the Indy Fuel in the ECHL.

The Blackhawks’ final 23-man roster is due at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
