The Blackhawks will send a group of their young prospects to participate in this year’s Prospect Tournament from Sept. 6-10 at Centre Ice Arena in Traverse City, Michigan.
Chicago’s prospects will play against the Blues, Maple Leafs and Red Wings in the Gordie Howe Division, while the Blue Jackets, Rangers, Stars and Wild will compete in the Ted Lindsay Division. Toronto replaces the Hurricanes, and will be playing in the tournament for the first time.
The Blackhawks play the Red Wings at 6 p.m. Central time Friday, the Maple Leafs at 2 p.m. Saturday and the Blues at 5:30 p.m. Monday.
There will be round-robin play in each division the first three days before teams will be seeded based on round-robin play for the final day of the tournament Tuesday. The first-place finishers will compete for the Matthew Wuest Memorial Cup at 6 p.m.
