The Stanley Cup Playoffs officially start Tuesday.
The Blackhawks are in the playoffs for the first time since 2017, but they’ll have a tough matchup against a deep Golden Knights team that went 3-0 during round-robin play to earn the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference. Chicago upset the No. 5 Oilers in four games during the Stanley Cup Qualifiers, and the Canadiens also pulled off a 12-5 upset in the Eastern Conference by eliminating the Penguins in four games.
Both the Blues and Bruins were the No. 1 seeds in their respective conferences when the NHL was paused March 12 due to health concerns surrounding the coronavirus. But they both went 0-3 in the round robin against the other top four teams in their conference.
The bracket will be re-seeded after the first and second rounds.
