One qualifying round series was completed Tuesday with the Hurricanes sweeping the Rangers, with a potential sweep looming during another busy weekday of hockey Wednesday.

The day starts in the Eastern Conference, where the No. 7 seed Islanders will look to sweep the No. 10 Panthers. The Islanders pulling off a sweep the day after their main rival, the Rangers, were swept would surely be a delight for Islanders fans.

The action shifts to the Western Conference in the afternoon, where the No. 6 Predators and No. 11 Coyotes face off in a pivotal Game 3 after splitting the first two.

Round-robin games take over in the middle of the day, with the Lightning and Bruins playing first, followed by the Avalanche against the Stars.

Qualifiers series resume in the evening with the No. 5 vs. No. 12 matchups from each conference. The No. 12 seeds took the first game in both series, but the No. 5 teams responded to even the series. The No. 5 Penguins vs. No. 12 Canadiens are first up, followed by the night owl’s delight of the No. 5 Oilers vs. No. 12 Blackhawks.
