There may only be four teams still playing hockey in the NHL right now, but every fanbase still has thoughts on their own team.

In the latest round of SB Nation’s Reacts survey, NHL fans were asked if they were confident their favorite team was headed in the right direction. The Blackhawks survived a difficult regular season to reach the NHL bubble and playoffs. While they were eliminated in five games in the first round by the Golden Knights, the limited success in the postseason with a four-game series win against the Oilers in the Stanley Cup Qualifiers was enough to leave fans split on the team’s future.

The 45-percent confidence rating is up from the 39-percent mark in July before the Qualifiers series against Edmonton. Since the last survey was completed, the Blackhawks signed four young players with defensemen Ian Mitchell and Wyatt Kalynuk and forwards Cam Morrison and Pius Suter.

Mitchell was drafted by Chicago in the second round in 2017, and his signing has been anticipated for more than a year. Kalynuk and Morrison were drafted by other teams — Flyers and Avalanche, respectively — but went unsigned and picked Chicago. Suter was a prized Europe free agent that decided on the Blackhawks thanks to his relationship with assistant coach Marc Crawford, who coached him in Switzerland.
