The Stanley Cup Final can be set Tuesday night with a Lightning win against the Islanders in Game 5 at Rogers Place in Edmonton.
The Stars completed half the puzzle of the Cup Final matchup Monday night with a 3-2 comeback victory in overtime against the Golden Knights to claim the Western Conference spot. It’s Dallas’ first trip to the Cup Final since 2000 when they fell in six games to the Devils.
The Lightning took a 3-1 series lead when they scored four unanswered goals for a 4-1 win Sunday. Nikita Kucherov and Brayden Point each had a goal and an assist, and Yanni Gourde had two assists. Andrei Vasilevskiy made 26 saves and had an assist.
Teams with a 3-1 lead are 289-29 (90.9 percent) winning a best-of-7 Stanley Cup Playoff series, including 11-0 this season.
