Well, I don’t think this really comes as a shock to anyone. Samsonov has 0 goals and just 4 assists in 23 games. I think he still handles the puck very well and is a smooth skater, and I would have figured that eventually he would have picked up a goal and started going on a tear, but I think Savard and the Hawks were just tired of waiting for that to happen and lost their patience with him. I’m sure some team that needs scoring will take a flyer on him and give him a chance to right the ship.
