Magnus Johansson is back

And I am quite unhappy:

General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the Blackhawks have recalled defenseman Magnus Johansson from the Rockford IceHogs of the AHL. Forwards Martin St.Pierre and Michael Blunden have been assigned to Rockford.

Johansson, 34, is being placed on the Blackhawks roster for the second time this season. Earlier this season, Johansson appeared in 17 games for the Blackhawks, picking up four assists and four penalty minutes.

Ugh. Just when I thought that I wouldn’t ever have to watch the disaster that is Magnus Johansson on defense ever again, he’s back due to the injury sustained by Wisniewski. I just hope that he spends most of his time in the pressbox, and not actually out on the ice.

I am hearing that the news that the ESPN recap reported on Sopel last night was false. ChicagoBlackhawks.com’s injury report says that Sopel did indeed break his finger, but he is going to practice and hopes to play on Sunday against the Kings. That’s a bullet dodged, because losing him would have been quite a blow to our defensive corps.
