A Must Have Holiday Gift

Last night the Chicago Blackhawks hosted an event at theWit hotel for some their more active social media fans. I really had no expectations what the night had in store but I was pleasantly surprised by just another example of why the Blackhawks are a first class organization. The event was held in a small movie theater within the hotel and included a screening of the 17 Seconds documentary. The Hawks treated us to appetizers and drinks, a gift bag that included a replica Stanley Cup ring and a bobblehead, plus everyone got their own copy of One Goal II.

The Blackhawks have outdone themselves with their new book One Goal II. If you loved One Goal Achieved this book goes above beyond that excellent effort. As soon as you open the book you will stopped by the video screen inside the front cover. The video player, which comes with a USB charger, plays two clips including the goals by Bryan Bickell and Dave Bolland featuring John Wiedeman and Troy Murray on the call. The rest of the book is full of unreal pictures from on and off the ice and some great pieces from various authors including the legendary Bob Verdi. The back cover contains a DVD copy of the 17 Seconds film. The 53 minute documentary starts with the surreal ending to Game 6 in Boston and follows the Cup all the way to the banner raising ceremony in October. Blackhawks TV and Banner Collective did an amazing job with this movie, getting their cameras access you’d never thought was possible. The Hawks are also releasing a Blu Ray version of the movie, but that is not included with the book. It will be worth the extra $20 just for the commentary by Bryan Bickell and Andrew Shaw.

One Goal II is well worth the $50 price tag and needs to be added to collection of every Blackhawks fan.  I want to thank the Chicago Blackhawks for inviting me to a great event and showing why they are the best franchsie going in sports today.
