Are You Ready For Some Outdoor Hockey Chicago?

There are multiple reports flying around that the NHL will be adding 5 additional outdoor games to the Winter Classic. This will include the Chicago Blackhawks hosting the Pittsburgh Penguins at Soldier Field on March 1st. Yes, that’s what NHL fans want, the Penguins shoved down our throats some more. Darren Dreger first reported the 6 outdoor games on TSN’s “Insider Trading” on Tuesday night. Katie Strang, of ESPN, is reporting that the contracts are being finalized before the official announcement is made. The Detroit Red Wings and the Toronto Maple Leafs will play in the 2014 Winter Classic in Ann Arbor, MI, the site of the cancelled 2013 game. The additional outdoor games will include 2 games at Yankee Stadium the week before the Super Bowl is played at the Meadowlands. Here is the list of rumored games:

Ducks vs. Kings at Dodger Stadium, Jan. 25
Devils vs. Rangers at Yankee Stadium, Jan. 26
Islanders vs. Rangers at Yankee Stadium, Jan 29
Penguins at Blackhawks, Soldier Field, March 1
Senators at Canucks, BC Place, March 2
