Blackhawks 2017 playoff picture: March 25

The Chicago Blackhawks have eight games left in the regular season and are battling for playoff positioning. Each day until the end of the regular season, we’ll breakdown their chances at a spot and seeding in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Friday’s results

There were no Central Division teams in the playoff race in action. San Jose dropped its fifth straight game with a 6-1 loss to Dallas. The Sharks and Anaheim each have 91 points after the Ducks defeated the Winnipeg Jets 3-1.

Saturday’s scoreboard watch

If the playoffs were to begin Wednesday, the Hawks would be the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference and play the second wild-card team — Nashville.

There’s a lot of movement that could happen in the league. All six teams currently in a playoff position will play. In the Central, Chicago (102) visits Florida while Minnesota (94) hosts Vancouver. Wild card teams Calgary (86 points) visits St. Louis (85) and Nashville (85) takes on San Jose (91) in the second half of back-to-back for the Sharks.
