Alex DeBrincat, Patrick Kane help Team USA beat Norway 9-3 at World Championship

Chicago Blackhawks winger Patrick Kane scored two goals and assisted another in the U.S. men’s national team’s 9-3 win over Norway at the World Championship on Sunday in Herning, Denmark.

Forward Alex DeBrincat added two assists.

Kane gave Team USA a 2-0 lead with two tallies less than four minutes apart in the middle of the first period.

The 29-year-old Kane ripped a one-timer from the right circle off a feed from Boston’s Charlie McAvoy for his first goal.

Columbus’ Cam Atkinson found DeBrincat below the goal line for the young Chicago start to send a pass to Kane to make it 2-0.

DeBrincat then weaved his way through some Norway defenders to set up McAvoy.

Kane’s helped set up Atkinson’s goal in the second period to make it 7-1.

Kane leads the tournament with 15 points (five goals, 10 assists) in six games while DeBrincat has eight points (one goal, seven assists).

Team USA closes out Group B play Tuesday against Finland.
