Blackhawks assign Laurent Dauphin, Erik Gustafsson, David Kampf to AHL Rockford

The Chicago Blackhawks assigned forwards Laurent Dauphin and David Kampf and defenseman Erik Gustafsson to the Rockford IceHogs of the AHL on Friday.

Both Dauphin and Kampf were offseason additions for Chicago. Dauphin was part of the trade Niklas Hjalmarsson trade with the Arizona Coyotes while Kampf was a free agent acquisition. The 22-year-old Dauphin has seen NHL ice time with three goals and an assist in 32 career games, including 24 last season, with Arizona. Kampf, also 22, registered 31 points (15 goals, 16 assists) in 52 games last season with Pirati Chomutov in the Czech Republic.

Gustafsson, 25, was battling for one of the final spots on the Hawks’ blue line. The Swedish blueliner split time between Chicago and Rockford during the 2015-16 season, but didn’t see time in Chicago last season. He registered 30 points (five goals, 25 assists) in 68 AHL games during the 2016-17 season.

Dauphin and Gustafsson are both on one-year contracts while Kampf is on a two-year deal worth $925,000 a year.

Chicago’s training camp roster now stands at 32 players with 18 forwards, 11 defenseman, and three goaltenders. The Hawks wrap up their preseason schedule at 7:30 p.m. Saturday against Boston at the United Center.
