After taking Monday off, the Blackhawks returned to the practice ice at Fifth Third Arena on Tuesday ahead of Wednesday’s home game against the Detroit Red Wings.

With Chicago winning its last two games, coach Luke Richardson decided not to change up his lines much, leading to a similar look from Sunday’s game in Anaheim.

As mentioned in the recap of that win over the Ducks, though, that positive result did not necessarily come from a positive process, with several of those lines being well underwater in terms of possession against a not-so-great Anaheim side. That third line of Mikheyev-Dickinson-Teuvo, in particular, was down 22-2 in shot attempts, 10-1 in shots on goal and 16-1 in scoring chances during its 10 minutes of 5-on-5 ice time. So perhaps a lineup shuffle is on the way against Detroit if things trend in that direction early on.

Two players remained absent from practice, with coach Luke Richardson providing an update on both defenseman Alec Martinez and goaltender Laurent Brossoit:

Outside of that, a largely uneventful day at Blackhawks practice with the team’s first home game in a few weeks awaiting on Wednesday night. Wonder if there’s something else happening on Tuesday that’s taking up everyone else’s attention?
