Brandon Saad told reporters he will wear a fishbowl helmet for the Blackhawks’ game Thursday against the Hurricanes after taking a puck to the mouth during practice the day before at MB Ice Arena. Saad added that he spent 2-3 hours at the dentist and received about 15 stitches.

The Blackhawks did not have line rushes during Thursday’s skate prior to Jeremy Colliton’s NHL head coach debut, reports Charlie Roumeliotis of NBC Sports Chicago.
Saad skated on the third line alongside David Kampf and Alexandre Fortin in Wednesday’s practice. The 26-year-old Saad has four goals and seven points in 15 games this season.
Colliton is taking over as the Blackhawks head coach after the team fired Joel Quenneville on Tuesday following a five-game losing streak.
Here’s how Colliton organized the lines on his first day:
DeBrincat — Toews — Kahun
Schmaltz — Anisimov — Kane
Saad — Kampf — Fortin
Martinsen — Kruger — Kunitz
Colliton had conversations with Hayden, Johnson and Manning after the morning skate. They may be tonight’s scratches. They did not skate lines this morning.
