Blackhawks trade Kyle Baun to Canadiens for Andreas Martinsen

The Chicago Blackhawks acquired forward Andreas Martinsen from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for forward Kyle Baun, the teams announced Wednesday.

Baun, 25, played five NHL games between 2014-16 with Chicago. He scored 14 of his AHL career 15 goals last season, and 28 assists for 43 points with the Rockford IceHogs.

Chicago signed Baun as an undrafted free agent out of Colgate.

Martinsen, 27, played in 64 NHL games last season between the Colorado Avalanche and Canadiens. The Norweigian winger was traded from Colorado to Montreal at last season’s trade deadline in exchange for Sven Andrighetto.

The 6-foot-3, 229-pound Martinsen recorded three goals and seven points with Colorado in 55 games last season. He did not register a point in nine games with Montreal, and was held scoreless in two playoff games.

Martinsen had one assist and three shots on net in three preseason games last month. He is expected to report to Rockford.
