Blackhawks playoff chase: April 1

The Blackhawks have four regular-season games remaining and are trying to return to the Stanley Cup playoffs after a one-year absence. Each day until the Blackhawks are officially eliminated from playoff contention, Second City Hockey will breakdown their chances at a playoff spot.

Sunday’s results

The Coyotes pulled within one point of Colorado for the second wild card in the Western Conference with a 4-0 shutout win against the Wild.

The Flames clinched the top seed in West with a 5-3 victory over the Sharks, who are now locked into a first-round series against the Golden Knights. Calgary will play the team that takes the second wild card.

Monday’s scoreboard watch

The Blackhawks need to beat the Jets and hope for the Blues to beat the Avalanche to stay alive in the playoff race.
