Blackhawks’ Duncan Keith scores his 500th NHL career point

Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Duncan Keith recorded his 500th NHL career point with a secondary assist on Patrick Kane’s power-play goal against the St. Louis Blues on Sunday at United Center.

Keith, 33, has five goals and 37 assists in 59 games this season. Earlier this season, Keith reached another milestone with his 400th career assist. And he’s five games away from playing in his 900th NHL game.

The two-time Norris trophy winner ranks third all-time in franchise points by a defenseman. Doug Wilson (779) and Bob Murray (514) hold down the top two spots in franchise history.

Keith was drafted by Chicago with the 54th overall pick in the second round of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. He has been instrumental part to the Hawks three Stanley Cups since 2010 and was named the 2015 Conn Smythe winner as the playoff’s most valuable player. He’s also a four-time NHL All-Star, including this season.
