Blackhawks look to capitalize on the Golden Knights’ goaltending setbacks

The Chicago Blackhawks will take on the Vegas Golden Knights on Tuesday night for the first time since their inauguration into the league.

The Blackhawks are coming off a 4-2 victory over the Coyotes, and will look to keep the ball rolling against a Vegas team who has had an incredible start this season. The season may still be young, but in just seven games, Vegas is 6-1-0.

Could the loss of their top two goaltenders be the beginning of their undoing, however? The Blackhawks will look to capitalize on this, as both Marc-Andre Fleury and Malcolm Subban have been placed on the injured reserve due to a concussion and lower-body injury, respectively.

They will now rely on goaltenders Oscar Dansk, and Maxime Legace to keep their almost perfect season going. Dansk earned a victory in his NHL debut for the Golden Knights on Saturday night against the Blues, after Subban left during the third period. Legace has yet to make an NHL appearance.

Corey Crawford is likely to get the nod for Chicago. In seven games this season, Crawford has a 1.86 goals against average and .945 save percentage. Both averages are good enough for second in the league, behind Flyers goaltender Michal Neuvirth.
