Dylan Strome to wear No. 17, Brendan Perlini stays with No. 11 for Blackhawks

Dylan Strome will wear a new number in his NHL career when he puts on No. 17 for the Blackhawks.

Brendan Perlini will stay with No. 11 and become the 33rd player in Blackhawks franchise history to wear it.

Strome previously wore No. 20 for the Coyotes before being traded Sunday night to Chicago along with Perlini in exchange for forward Nick Schmaltz.

Number 20 is currently taken by Brandon Saad. Strome also wore No. 9 for Canada at the 2016 World Junior Championship, but Chicago has retired No. 9 for Bobby Hull. Strome also wore No. 19 with the Erie Otters of the OHL and at the 2017 World Juniors.

Strome will be the 37th player in franchise history to wear No. 17. Lance Bouma was the last player to wear it this past season.
