Blackhawks Lay An Egg

That’s how I feel about Saturday night’s game against the Predators. Did that really happen? Yes, yes it did. The Blackhawks lost 7-2 in Nashville, which should never happen. Marian Hossa was scratched before the game started and it all went down hill form there, Nikolai Khabibulin started, was terrible and then got hurt. The Blackhawks played so awful that Brian Sutter drove to Tyler Aranson’s house and punched him in the face just because. Things got so bad that Viktor Stalberg actually finished a 2 on 1 by scoring. Way to finally figure out how to not hit the post buddy! . The Blackhawks wet themsleves Saturday; that’s going to happen during an 82 game season. They have lost three games in regulation in their first 20 games and have yet to play their best hockey. I am not going to lose any sleep over what happened last night, just chalk it up to “one of those things.”

This is the part of my recaps where I make my observations but there won’t be any of those becaue everything was bad. Two things to pay some mind to are Marian Hossa and Nikolai Khabibulin. Hossa was on the ice for pregame warmups but was a late scratch. Q said he is day to day and he will see how he is doing today. I have nor problem sitting Hossa from time to time, especially in back to backs. He isB much more valuable to us in April and May than in November. Not that anyone wanted to see Khabby get injured, but it is safe to say nobody iis upset that he could be out for some time. We will now wait to see who gets the call up today from Rockford. Antti Raanta and Kent Simpson have been splitting time in the IceHogs net so it will be interesting to see who gets the nod. Mac Carruth, who has been playing well in Toledo, should get moved up to Rockford as well.

Player of the Game

There certainly wasn’t anyone on the ice worthy of this honor but I wanted to give a last shout out to the guys from Hockee Night who put together another great road watch and raised a lot money for the Wound Warrior Project. Well done boys and am I already looking forward to the next installment of Gonna Drinken.
